The bell tower dates back to 1753 and the altarpiece was made in 1887 by the famous painter, Victor Westerholm who has roots in Nauvo. The altarpiece is named Jesus in Getsemane and legend has it that the angel has Westerholm&#8217;s wife&#8217;s face.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/visithoutskar.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/kyrkakollaasi.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52006\" src=\"https:\/\/visithoutskar.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/kyrkakollaasi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1792\" height=\"416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/visithoutskar.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/kyrkakollaasi.jpg 1792w, https:\/\/visithoutskar.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/kyrkakollaasi-300x70.jpg 300w, https:\/\/visithoutskar.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/kyrkakollaasi-1024x238.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/visithoutskar.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/kyrkakollaasi-768x178.jpg 768w, https:\/\/visithoutskar.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/kyrkakollaasi-1600x371.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/visithoutskar.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/kyrkakollaasi-1536x357.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1792px) 100vw, 1792px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Symbols and reminders of archipelago culture are used as interiors in the church. There are also a number of medieval wooden sculptures. The church also boasts a separate three-bell tower.
